Where do the socks actually come from?
Sometimes we get asked questions like: "Do you knit them yourselves?" or "Are they made here in the shop?" and clearly, that is not the case.
The finished sock is the result of a long design and manufacturing process.
Our sock production begins with a design in good old Trier. Infused with heart and nostalgia, the designs are then sent to our knitting mill, a family-run business in the EU.
It has been a truly top-notch collaboration for years, one that makes us proud time and time again!
It is a real partnership. A process of weighing options, discarding ideas, and making improvements, right up to the finished product.
To better understand what happens there and what is possible, we visited the site ourselves to take a look at the working conditions and quality assurance.
It is important to us that their values and commitment align with our own to ensure a smooth collaboration and to be able to offer a product that truly comes from the heart.
In the picture, you can see a knitting machine currently knitting our fox sock—yes, that requires a great many yarn spools, needles, and hands!
Even for us old hands, it is always exciting to see such technical processes, to be there in person, and to experience the people behind them.
There will be more new input coming soon here regarding organic yarns and other processes in the background.Feel free to follow us on Instagram as well, where you can stay up-to-date on daily Prusselise life and be well informed!
